This Is It For Wade

I applaud Wade Phillips. He’s under a great amount of scrutiny, and has taken things into his own hands. After his press conference on Monday, the popular assumption was one of the “changes” Wade would make would be stripping Brian Stewart of his defensive play calling duties and assuming them himself. Wade has done that, meaning he’s put his job on the line. Defense is Phillips’ specialty, and he will try to turn this underachieving unit around. Should this work, and the defense finally lives up to his potential, Wade could save his job. Should it fail, and they continue down this path of mediocrity, Wade Phillips tenure as head coach is over.

Good Move Tony

I realize Cowboys fans may disagree with me here. But Tony Romo announcing last night T.O.’s radio show that he’s sitting out the next couple of weeks was a good idea. The distractions surrounding pinky-gate last week were ridiculous. We all knew Romo shouldn’t be playing. And thanks to a Brett Favre call, that got in his head, Tony thought he could play.

Albeit it’s Brad Johnson, but the best thing this team can do is rally around the 40-year old giraffe, get in a solid game plan, and regroup for after the bye week. All is not lost, Romo needs to heal, and they could put together a second half run, right into the playoffs.

What Will Happen At The Ranch?

I’m here at Valley Ranch waiting to go into the locker room. It’s the day after their horrible loss to the Rams. People are calling for Wade’s head, players are underachieving, and all of the sudden this team is 4-3.

Football Titanic is close to sinking. It should be an interesting day. We’ll keep you posted.

Cowboys Get Beat By Lowly Rams, 34-14

For the first time since 2006 the Dallas Cowboys find themselves in a two-game losing streak. The St. Louis Rams beat Dallas 34-14, in what was without question their worst effort of the season. Brad Johnson got the start for the injured Tony Romo, and looked effective on the first drive leading the Cowboys to an early 7-0 lead. Unfortunately the Rams would tie it, and it all went downhill from there.

It was the first quarter that did the Cowboys in, with the Rams scoring 21-points quickly. After that, they could never recover with the offense once again looking shaky for the third week in a row. This one stings more than the others because it’s to a Rams team that’s been dreadful this year. St. Louis had only scored 4-touchdowns in their first five game, and hadn’t eclipsed the 20-point until today.

Brad Johnson in his first start was 17-34, 234-yards, 1 td, and 3 interceptions. It was obvious the offense wasn’t going to be effective with the Rams defense pressuring Johnson all game.

The defense was also disappointing, letting Steven Jackson run all over them. Jackson finished with 160-yards and three-touchdowns.\

Up next, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, a much better team then the one that beat up the Cowboys today.

Brad Johnson Picked Again

The Cowboys started moving the ball again, only for Brad Johnson to throw another interception. I never thought it would get this bad.

No Pride On Cowboys Star

For a franchise that’s built on pride, this team seems to have quit. I’ve never seen such a talented team so dejected, outplayed, and out hustled by a team that shouldn’t have been anywhere near being in this game.

56-Yards Later, Cowboys Are DONE

Steven Jackson’s 56-yard touchdown just did in the Cowboys. It’s now 31-7, the Cowboys have zero offense, and the sideline has given up. It’s unreal that this Cowboys team is going to fall to 4-3.

Nick Folk Misses Again

After a crucial penalty by rookie Martellus Bennett, Nick Folk missed a field goal that to get the Cowboys within two-touchdowns.

The Fans Are Chanting, “Romo, Romo, Romo”

The fans in St. Louis are calling for Tony Romo. During the tv timeout, the crowd was loudly chanting: “Romo, Romo, Romo!”

Do We See Tony Romo?

You can bet Jerry Jones was in that locker room at halftime. And you can bet he said put in Tony Romo. Question is, do the Cowboys go with Romo, or stick with Brad Johnson?
