Who Needs Sleep

Rangers pitcher Matt Harrison drove down from Oklahoma City last night.  When he got into town, he woke up nearly every hour.  But you would never be able to tell it by how he looked out on the field tonight.  Harrison showed poise and command of his pitches.  The only time he got into trouble was in the fifth.  He gave up his only walk of the game and 3 hits.  But he responded by closing out the 6th and 7th innings.

Harrison is the first Rangers starter to go 7 innings in his major league debut since Brian Sikorski did it in 2000.  Who’s Brian Sikorski you ask?  My point exactly.  Harrison had a heck of a game and I’m pretty excited about what he could be down the road, but lets remember that this was just one game.
